FAQ

How much is Camp Bow Wow per day?
A full day of daycare costs $30 (Humble, Texas) to $50 (San Ramon, California) at the camps we checked, and a half day $21 to $42. Buying days in packs of 10 or 20 cuts the daily price by roughly 10 to 20 percent.
How much does Camp Bow Wow boarding cost per night?
A standard boarding night costs $55 to $77 for one dog, and a luxury suite $85 to $135. A second dog sharing the stay adds about $45 to $64 a night.
Is the first day at Camp Bow Wow free?
At some camps. Oak Park, Illinois gives the first day free, while others sell a first-day special: $75 in Albuquerque, $85 in Humble (three days plus a bath), $99 at San Diego Airport and $135 in Cherry Hill. The Camper Interview itself was free at every camp we checked.
Does Camp Bow Wow charge extra on holidays?
Most camps say holiday rates apply, and the ones that post a figure add $5 to $8 a night: Baton Rouge $5, Westminster, Colorado $7 and Towson, Maryland $8 per dog.
What does a dog need to go to Camp Bow Wow?
Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccines, a free Camper Interview, a minimum age of 4 months, and a spay or neuter by 7 months.

“First day free” is the line most people remember about Camp Bow Wow. Of the seven camps whose daycare pages we read in September 2026, exactly one, Oak Park in Illinois, actually does it. The others charge for a first-day special, anywhere from $75 to $135. That is Camp Bow Wow pricing in miniature: each camp is a franchise, and each decides for itself.

Google’s listings of other camps’ pages add San Ramon, California at $50 a full day ($42 a half day) and Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio at $32. That puts the posted range at $30 to $50 a day.

Packs are where the price moves. Humble’s 20-day pack works out to $24 a day, a fifth off its single-day price; Albuquerque’s is $26.40, also about 20% off. San Diego Airport’s pack saves less, $41.40 a day against $46.

Some camps sell memberships instead. Humble’s is $425 a month for weekday daycare, San Diego Airport’s unlimited plan is $655 a month on a recurring payment ($705 if you don’t set up recurring), and Columbia sells monthly packs of 5 days for $185 or 10 days for $360.

Two things catch owners out. Check-out is 11 a.m. at the camps that post it, an hour earlier than most kennels, and San Diego Airport charges $25 if you’re late. The second dog is cheaper than the first, but not by much: it adds $45 in Baton Rouge and $64 in San Diego.

Towson takes 10% off stays longer than 14 days, the only long-stay discount we found.

Do camps charge for grooming and training?

Some camps groom, and prices are local. Kansas City lists baths at $30 to $40 and nail trims at $16; Columbia’s nail trim is $19; Nashville quotes full grooms at $65 to $100; Peoria lists $90 for a small dog’s full groom.

Training is on offer at a handful of camps, at very different prices: $180 for a six-week class in South Salt Lake, Utah; $225 for level classes at Westlake; and at Rockaway, $225 for in-camp training or $400 for a Play & Train package.

What does a dog need before camp?

The Camper Interview, a temperament test, was free at every camp we checked. Your dog also needs:

  • rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccines (Myrtle Beach also recommends leptospirosis)
  • to be at least 4 months old
  • to be spayed or neutered by 7 months, per a Camp Bow Wow post from March 2026 (an older 2016 post said 6 months)

No camp page we read lists a registration fee. Our dog vaccination cost guide covers the cheapest places to get the required shots.

How does Camp Bow Wow compare with Dogtopia and PetSmart?

Camp Bow Wow’s cheapest camps undercut Dogtopia’s. Dogtopia’s posted full days start at $38, and its standard boarding runs $59 to $87 against Camp Bow Wow’s $55 to $77. PetSmart’s PetsHotel doesn’t publish nightly rates at all. See Dogtopia prices and PetSmart boarding prices for the details, and compare the two or three places nearest you rather than trusting any national average.
