FAQ

How much is a vet visit at PetSmart?
It depends on which partner runs the clinic in your store. At a Banfield hospital, an office visit costs $69.95–$95.95 depending on market. ShotVet vaccine clinics charge no exam fee. You pay for a package instead, from $155 for adult dogs, plus a $6 biohazard fee per pet. PetSmart Veterinary Services hospitals set their own prices.
How much are shots at PetSmart?
At ShotVet clinics in PetSmart stores, adult dog packages cost $155 (Four Paws: rabies, DA2PP, deworming and a heartworm test), $175 (Wild Paws) or $215 (Pampered Paws). ShotVet doesn’t publish individual shot prices.
How much are puppy shots at PetSmart?
ShotVet sells three puppy visits at $85, $114 and $144, or all three as the Puppy Club for $215. That is $128 less than buying them separately, and cheaper than Petco’s $269–$299 Puppy Bundle.
Does PetSmart have its own vet?
No. PetSmart says vet services are available in about 70% of stores through partners: Banfield Pet Hospital, ShotVet pop-up clinics, independently owned PetSmart Veterinary Services hospitals, PetSmart Charities partner clinics and other independent vets.
Is PetSmart cheaper than a regular vet for vaccines?
For vaccines only, usually. A ShotVet package includes several shots and a heartworm test with no exam fee. For a checkup plus shots, a full-service vet such as the Banfield inside many PetSmarts includes the exam but charges an office visit every time.

The best deal we found at a PetSmart vet counter is ShotVet’s Puppy Club: all three puppy vaccine visits for $215. Bought one visit at a time, the same three cost $343, so the club saves $128. It also undercuts Petco’s $269–$299 Puppy Bundle and Tractor Supply’s $280–$291 series, though package contents differ between providers, so check what’s in each before you book.

Whether your store sells it depends on who runs the vet there. “The vet at PetSmart” can mean any of five kinds of business, and each prices differently.

Who runs the vet inside a PetSmart?

PetSmart doesn’t employ vets. Its veterinary page says vet services are available in about 70% of PetSmart stores, through five kinds of partner:

ProviderWhat it isPublishes prices?
Banfield Pet HospitalFull-service hospitals, hundreds of them inside PetSmart storesYes, per hospital
ShotVetPop-up vaccine clinics on set daysYes, packages
PetSmart Veterinary Services (PVS)Independently owned full-service hospitalsNo
PetSmart Charities partner clinicsNonprofit low-cost clinicsVaries
Independent vetsLocal practices operating in the storeVaries

The sign on the door tells you which price list applies. The two you’re most likely to find, Banfield and ShotVet, both publish prices. Grooming, training and boarding at PetSmart have their own pages: PetSmart grooming prices, PetSmart training prices and PetSmart boarding prices, with the rest in all pet service prices.

How much are ShotVet shot clinics at PetSmart?

ShotVet runs pop-up vaccine clinics inside PetSmart stores. It sells packages rather than single shots, charges no exam fee, and adds a $6 biohazard fee per pet. The prices are the same nationwide:

Dog packagePriceWhat’s included
Four Paws$155Rabies, DA2PP, deworming, heartworm test
Wild Paws$175Four Paws plus Bordetella or leptospirosis
Pampered Paws$215Four Paws plus more lifestyle vaccines (Bordetella, leptospirosis, flu or Lyme)

ShotVet’s own price page doesn’t list individual vaccines. Some third-party sites quote around $30 for rabies and $35 for DA2PP, but we couldn’t confirm either figure with ShotVet, so budget with the packages.

How much are puppy and kitten shots at ShotVet?

PuppyPriceKittenPrice
Puppy A$85Kitten A$85
Puppy B$114Kitten B$114
Puppy C$144Kitten C$149
Puppy Club (A + B + C)$215Kitten Club (A + B + C)$209–$239

Adult cats cost $135 (indoor) or $161 (outdoor), both with PureVax vaccines.

How much does Banfield charge inside PetSmart?

Banfield is the full-service vet in many PetSmart stores, and it publishes a price list for each hospital. An office visit costs $74.95 to $95.95 across the markets in our comparison, and $69.95 at the cheapest hospital we found, in Hickory, North Carolina. Banfield requires that visit with every vaccine, so a dog rabies shot there comes to about $103–$128.

In return you get a full exam from a vet. Banfield’s wellness plans bundle unlimited office visits and routine vaccines for a monthly fee; our Banfield price list and Banfield wellness plan cost guides have the details.

What is PetSmart Veterinary Services?

PetSmart Veterinary Services (PVS) hospitals are veterinarian-owned practices operating inside select PetSmart stores. A 2026 franchise disclosure reported by a third party puts the network at 43 locations. Each hospital sets its own prices and PVS doesn’t publish them, so call your local PVS for a quote. Some locations take walk-ins.

Are PetSmart shots cheaper than a regular vet?

For vaccines alone, a ShotVet package usually is. Four Paws covers rabies, DA2PP, deworming and a heartworm test for $155 plus the $6 fee, with no exam charge. At a full-service vet, the exam alone often costs more than half of that.

What you give up is the exam. A vaccine clinic gives shots and a quick check, and it can’t treat a sick pet. If your dog is due a checkup anyway, a full-service vet that includes the exam, such as Banfield, can be the better value. Other walk-in options are in Petco vaccination prices and Tractor Supply vet clinic prices, and our dog vaccination cost page puts the chains side by side.

How do you find a PetSmart shot clinic near you?

ShotVet clinics run on set days, not every day. Check ShotVet’s schedule for your store, or ask at the PetSmart service desk which partner runs the clinic and when. Bring any previous vaccine records, especially for a three-year rabies shot. Dogs need a leash; cats need a carrier.
