FAQ

How much is a Tractor Supply vet visit?
There is no office visit fee at PetVet clinics in Tractor Supply stores. You pay for the vaccines, tests or packages you choose, plus a $6 medical disposal fee per pet and $1 for each lab test.
How much is a rabies shot at Tractor Supply?
A rabies vaccine costs $38 at most PetVet clinics we checked and $40 at others, such as York, Pennsylvania. Added to a package, it costs $31. Cat rabies (PureVax) costs $48–$50.
Do you need an appointment for the Tractor Supply vet clinic?
No. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can pre-register online to join a virtual queue. Clinics only run on set days for a few hours, so check your store’s schedule first.
How often does Tractor Supply have vet clinics?
It depends on the store. Some run weekly (Thursday or Friday afternoons, for example), while others run about every four weeks. Each clinic session lasts roughly 90 minutes to a few hours.
Is Tractor Supply cheaper than Petco for vaccines?
Slightly, for most shots. PetVet charges $38–$40 for rabies and $33–$34 for a microchip, against $39–$45 and $36–$41 at Petco’s Vetco clinics. Both add a small per-pet fee: $6 at PetVet and $5.99 at Vetco.

The vet clinics inside Tractor Supply stores are run by PetVet. They’re walk-in vaccine and wellness clinics with published prices and no office visit fee. This page lists every price from their store pages, the two fees added at checkout, and how the clinics work.

List prices before tax. The vet may recommend tests or treatment that are not on this list, and a wellness plan changes what you pay.

How much does the Tractor Supply vet clinic cost?

You pay for each vaccine, test or package and nothing just for walking in. PetVet calls it “transparent, up-front pricing with no office visit fees”. Two small charges go on top: a $6 medical disposal fee per pet, per visit, and a $1 medical laboratory fee for each test.

Prices come in bands. Three of the five clinics we checked (Greenfield IN, Hagerstown MD and North Augusta SC) had identical prices. York PA and Westminster MD were $1–$7 higher on every item. PetVet says service and pricing may vary by location.

What’s in each PetVet package?

PetVet sells packages at a discount to buying the same shots one by one, and describes them like this:

PackageWho it’s forStandardYork / Westminster
Essential Health (dog)Essential vaccines against serious infectious diseases$84$88
Vital Health (dog)Social and outdoor dogs, and dogs that board or get groomed$110$115
Total Health (dog)Long-term protection for your dog$143$150
Vital Health (cat)Indoor cats$108$111
Total Health (cat)Outdoor cats and multi-cat homes$127$130

Puppies get three visits four weeks apart ($88, $92 and $100 at standard prices). Kittens get three visits at 8, 12 and 16+ weeks ($100, $105 and $121).

Buying any package also unlocks add-on prices on other services, up to 20% off by PetVet’s count. At the clinics we checked, a rabies shot drops from $38–$40 to $31, a heartworm test from $46–$48 to $37, and a microchip from $33–$34 to $26.

How much are individual shots and tests?

The most-searched prices, standard band first:

ServicePriceNotes
Rabies$38 ($40 in York and Westminster)$31 as a package add-on. Cat rabies (PureVax) is $48–$50.
5-in-1 (DHPP)$46–$48
Bordetella$45–$47 non-injectable, $52–$54 injectable
Heartworm + tick-borne test$46–$48$33 if you buy 12 months of heartworm preventive at the same time
Microchip with lifetime registration$33–$34
Nail trim$30–$31

A nail trim needs proof of rabies vaccination first, which makes it pricier than a groomer’s.

Is Tractor Supply cheaper than Petco or a regular vet?

Against Petco’s Vetco clinics, which also charge no exam fee, PetVet is slightly cheaper on most shots:

ServiceTractor Supply (PetVet)Petco (Vetco)
Rabies$38–$40$39–$45
5-in-1 (DHPP)$46–$48$46–$51
Bordetella$45–$54$52–$58
Microchip$33–$34$36–$41
Per-pet fee$6 disposal fee$5.99 materials and disposal fee

Against a full-service vet the gap is bigger. At Banfield the rabies shot itself costs $28.41–$32.09, but every vaccine visit carries a $74.95–$95.95 office visit fee. The details are in our Petco vaccination prices and Banfield price list guides.

A vaccine clinic doesn’t replace a yearly checkup or treat a sick pet. For that you need a full-service vet, such as Banfield or VCA; other chains are in our pet service price guides.

Do you need an appointment, and how often are clinics held?

No appointment is needed. You can walk in, or pre-register online to hold a place in a virtual queue, then check in on the day.

Clinics aren’t open all day. They run as short sessions on set days, and the schedule varies by store:

StoreSchedule we found

Hagerstown, MDThursdays, 3–6 p.m.
Greenfield, INSaturdays, 1–2:30 p.m.
North Augusta, SCSundays 10–11:30 a.m., about every 4 weeks

Check your local store’s PetVet page for its next date. Bring cats in carriers and dogs on leashes.

A note on ownership. PetVet belonged to VIP Petcare, which Tractor Supply bought in May 2026 (the press release is dated 28 May). More than three months later, the PetVet pages we link to below still sit on vippetcare.com addresses, and Tractor Supply’s own PetVet page was the one source we could only read through Google results.

Are there discounts right now?

PetVet’s current promotions page lists two offers. New pets get 20% off a first visit, for a limited time. And with code HEMRLW you get $20 off a package when you buy 6 months of flea and tick prevention, from 3 August to 27 September 2026.
